moving into year 7 ..

This week I have been to induction week , so what we did is pretended to be senior school for 4 day. With my eyes , I still managed to cope because most teachers knew about my eyes and enlarged work for me . They made sure I could see things , when we had PE today the sun was really really bright and we were playing rounders and i could not see the ball. .My house lost because it was bright . Everyone said this but it made it even more difficult for me .

I read in a magazine that when you have this disease it will improve you in life and something great will happen to you . The girl that wrote this said she has been accepted into university and hoped to make a good start into her life . I always think of this and it makes me feel happy

I am worried about going into year 7 incase I don't have enough time to do all the homework and it is not enlarged . All the responsibilty in year 7 worries me a lot , like packing you pe kit in your bag or you get detention . Packing things in your bag for all the classes you are going to have and knowing where I am going to go because there are so many floors in the school .

I am still awaiting results from the doctor whether Elsie has the same problem as me .

Thanks for all you responses

Flo

Hello Flo, it's Amber Sasha's cousin I'm really enjoying reading your blog, it's really interesting and well written :). Do you enjoy story writing at school? I imagine you're very good at it!!

I promise you that big school isn't as scary and difficult. It's just important the teachers know what they can do to help you. I have a bad joint problem which means some days I can't walk very well or hold things very well (so I smash a lot of plates and can't write for very long). At high school the teachers were very understanding and supportive and they gave me extra time to walk between lessons in case I needed it and sometimes adapted a PE lesson so I could still take part.

Maybe ask if you can have a buddy in your class when you start your new school who can walk with you to your lessons until you get used to the layout? I think it might help in the beginning.

Anyway I have accidentally written an essay I hope that you will enjoy the rest of your secondary school experience :)!

Lovely Flo just be your usual self and try not to worry. I know it's easy to say that, but there is always someone who will help you and you'll be making new friends in year 7. You are a very brave girl and we are very very proud of you and just know that you will cope. Sending you lots and lots of love xxxx
